Raimy Rosenduft was born into a tribe of fatalistic Jews from Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. She is not Russian. Previously she was posting about music and culture here and about The Suck here. But she likes the idea of being able to post whatever she likes here.

  5. Hi Raimy!

Kinda out of the blue…but anyways, do you know where your last name comes from?
And did you know that it is a Danish word that means ‘the smell of roses’? You probably know…but now you know it again :)

  6. Hi Raimy,

I work with the L Magazine and we are currently gearing up to put on another Northside Festival here in NYC at the end of the month. This year they have some pretty great bands, but they are also sweetening the pot by giving out a bunch of free passes, and a brand new iPad to a lucky winner. It’s a pretty cool prize and I was thinking that maybe some of the Where is Raimy? readers might be interested in checking out the competition and the festival. It would be great if you can give it a shout on the blog, it’s a cool festival for NY and we are really excited about getting the word out about it this year.

You can check out all the info on the festival and the giveaways at this link http://posting.thelmagazine.com/newyork/NorthsideContest/Page

    All the best,

    Sam

  7. Hey Raimy!

I absolutly love all your blogs, and all your podcasts with Liz and essentailly all your work. I’m starting up a blog, and I was wondering if you could give me some advice. It’s going to be on a few different topics, queer issues, feminism, music, random stuff I encounter in my day-to-day. I was wondering if you think I should create seperate pages for each catagory so to speak, or just post freely. What do you think would be more effective and.. generally better for my readers?

    Thanks! Love you!

  8. Well Hello Gorgeous!

I was wondering, dorkily enough, if you had an address for fan mail and such?

    Much Love.

  9. Hi Raimy!

Seriously you have an incredible music taste!!

I love you!! and I’m really happy that This Just Out it’s back!!!

  10. xo, RNR initials. So now it’s like Rock n Roll that smells like roses.

If you find anything as upbeat + romantic as If You Leave by OMD or Alphaville’s Forever Young let me know. I am convinced of super new super gay wave that will be the big one. This time without the no girl fence blocking routes of credits.

  11. Hey Raimy!
First off, let me just say I’m a huge fan of you’re supreme taste in music. Second I broke my foot last year-ish, the same time you had your injury, and your blog was an awesome way to keep me entertained while on bed rest. So thanks for that! So I go to Full Sail University for Music Business, and I’m in a management class and for our final project we have to interview someone who has experience managing in the music industry. I know you toured with Holly Miranda, so I was wondering if you’d be interested in filling out a few questions via email that I could present to the class!

    Thanks!
    Erin

  12. Hello Raimy Rosenduft

I am from Denmark, and I just want to tell You, if You don’t know, that in danish, rosenduft means: smells like roses. (rose-scent)

    Have a nice day :)

  13. Thanks for give our music some love. It is much appreciated. We’ll give you more when it’s ready.

  14. Hi Raimy,
I hope you don’t mind me asking; you’re an authority on music! Do you know any beautiful songs about the sea? Orkerville River – Lost Coastlines etc? I’m on a mission to find some, preferably relatively unknown artists. Any help would be great! Thanks!
    Chan.

  15. Hello priestess of all things inspiring. I am re-introducing myself to music after a verrrrry long hiatus and I am trying to give it a go at singing. Was hoping you could check out my video for a song I co-wrote many moons ago. I have mucho respect for your opinion and so far, you have not disappointed with any of the music you have recommended. Plus, my dog makes a rather amusing appearance towards the end and tries to answer my phone.

  16. Took your advice and got the original singer of that song to sing it with me.

Hopefully we will be collaborating more in the futute. Right now, I am focused on putting a band togather and hitting the street.

Saw you at Origami on Sunday but didn’t want to bother you before the set and couldn’t find you after the show. :( Thank you so much for introducing me to those amazing artists. I can’t wait to hear what you come up with next.

  17. Hey Raimy, the other day I was watching TJO, and the main topic of conversation was about coming out to your parents and peers. You announced that, I’m sorry if I don’t get this correctly, in high school your friends outed you. You had this gay wrist band in your book bag. When I heard this story I started laughing so hard. I started carrying this colorful wrist band in my book bag about 3 months ago. At first I would wear it around and now I keep it in my book bag. I haven’t told anyone except my friends in college, on a drunken night….away from my home city.

  18. Hey Raimy!

Hoping that you are having a wonderful hannukah and well wishes for a great 2012!! On another note, earlier this evening I was told about your Ouchie blog and loved the concept. I am interested in developing something of that sort as well but my scenario is different. If you ever happen to get this message in time, I would be very grateful if you contacted me so that I can further explain.

    Again, happy holidays!

    Best,
    Tracy

  19. Hi Raimy,
I just wanted to thank you so much for introducing Holly through This Just Out a couple of years ago. To me, she’s the most beautiful and talented musician I’ve ever seen. You’re the coolest one. :)
You girls, you’ve changed my life. Thanks for being awesome!
Best wishes from the Czech Republic,
    Nikol
